Every year on New Year's Eve, the board of directors of Mazu Temple in Meizhou holds the activity of "Opening the Temple Gate to Welcome the Spring and Keeping the New Year's Eve and Burning the Head Fragrance" at Tianhou Palace on the west axis of the temple. The board of directors of the ancestral temple joins hands with people from all walks of life to open the temple gate and pray that those who admire Mazu at home and abroad will have a happy New Year, be healthy, and wish the motherland prosperity. At the same time, Mazu admirers from all over the country will also go to the ancestral temple for vigil to "burn incense" and pray for peace.

On the third day of the first lunar month every year, the board of directors of Mazu Temple in Meizhou holds a New Year prayer ceremony with the theme of "New Year, New Year and New Atmosphere, Praying for New Year, Praying for New Year, Praying for Peace" at the Tianhou Hall on the South Axis. Mazu admirers at home and abroad follow the ancient system here, burn high incense, pray for five blessings, and praise Mazu.

Every year on the 8th and 9th day of the first month, the board of directors of Mazu Ancestral Temple in Meizhou will escort the Mazu Golden Body back to Shanglin's former residence to express blessings. The event lasts for two days and one night. During the stay in the former residence of Mazu in the Tianfei Hometown Ruins Park, the golden body of Mazu will be worshipped by Mazu admirers at home and abroad. The park will also hold ten tones and eight music, guessing lantern riddles, electronic music three princes, cultural performances and wonderful array performances from various places, as well as intangible cultural heritage experiences such as combing Mazu's head and eating Mazu noodles, and showcase the Lantern Festival charm of Mazu's hometown Meizhou Island with an all-round folk feast.

The Lantern Festival on Meizhou Island lasts for 12 days from the 8th day of the first month to the 18th day of the first month. During this period, the 14 Mazu palaces and temples on the island patrolled the home community palace. Among them, the Meizhou Mazu golden body rode back to her hometown (Meizhou Dongcai Village) to patrol and stay the most grand, attracting thousands of believers at home and abroad every year. In addition, the "Send Mom to the Palace" event on the 14th night of the first lunar month was a carnival night for everyone. Countless good men and women surrounded the Golden Body of Mazu in Meizhou and Huiluan Ancestral Temple. The scene was very spectacular.

Looking for thousands of miles to visit Mazu, Meizhou is my hometown. Every year around the birth of Mazu on the 23rd day of the third lunar month, Mazu admirers at home and abroad will travel across thousands of mountains and rivers to respectfully invite Mazu to return to Mazu's hometown Meizhou Island to pay homage to her ancestors. The largest team number exceeds 5000. This folk event, built jointly by countless pilgrims, is affectionately called "the world's Mazu returns to her mother's family."

On the first day of the third lunar month every year, the board of directors of Mazu Ancestral Temple in Meizhou raises flags and hangs red lights at the Shengzhimen Square of the Ancestral Temple, and holds a temple fair opening ceremony to announce the birth of Mazu to Mazu believers around the world. During this period, Mazu palaces and temples around the world organized believers to return to Meizhou Ancestral Temple to pay homage to their ancestors and participate in the grand event to celebrate Mazu's birthday together.

Every year, the 23rd day of the third lunar month is the anniversary of Mazu's birthday. The Spring Sacrifice to Mazu will be held as scheduled in Tianhou Square on the south axis of the ancestral temple. Mazu admirers at home and abroad gather together to pay homage to Mazu and share peace. The Spring Mazu Sacrifice Ceremony has a long history. In the fifty-ninth year of Kangxi, the Meizhou Mazu Sacrifice Ceremony was included in the National Sacrifice Ceremony; during the Yongzheng period, the entire Meizhou Mazu Sacrifice Ceremony was re-ordered to perform three kneels and nine knocks; in the fifty-third year of Qianlong, the court issued an edict to Meizhou Mazu to enjoy the Spring and Autumn Festival. The Meizhou Mazu Sacrifice Ceremony, Confucius Sacrifice and Yellow Emperor Sacrifice are called the three major rituals in China.

The ninth day of the ninth lunar month is the anniversary of the emergence and ascent of Mazu. The board of directors of Meizhou Mazu Temple holds a sea sacrifice and prayer ceremony on this day every year. During the event, Mazu admirers at home and abroad will gather in the "Sea Sacrifice and Blessing Boat" at the bottom of Shen 'ao on Meizhou Island to participate in the Sea Sacrifice and Blessing Ceremony for Mazu. The sea festival is a perfect combination of Mazu culture, marine civilization and folk art. It expresses the fishermen's worship and reverence for the ocean, as well as their gratitude and love for Mazu. It expresses the unremitting pursuit and awe of the Chinese people for the truth, goodness and beauty. A beautiful wish to conquer nature, and protect nature.

The Taiwan Strait Forum is an important platform for people-to-people exchanges between the two sides of the strait. Every year, when the New Calendar bids farewell to the old and welcomes the new year, the board of directors of Meizhou Mazu Temple holds a New Year's Eve party to welcome the new year with pilgrims and tourists from all over the world. At the same time, the board of directors of the ancestral temple will also hold a New Year's prayer event at the Tianhou Palace on the west axis of the ancestral temple. The morning worship to Mazu is a purpose for the ancestral temple to inherit traditional culture and create a solemn worship atmosphere in the temple. It uses the ritual reciting of the "Meizhou Virgin on the Sky" as the content to lead Mazu to be good in faith, rub her hands and pick incense, and pray for peace. The ceremony is held at 6:36 a.m. every morning in summer (April 16-October 15) and 7:06 a.m. every morning in winter (October 16-April 15 of the following year) at the Tianhou Temple on the South Axis. It lasts for about 45 minutes and is open to all believers.
