As the world's first Mazu temple, Meizhou Mazu Temple has carried the profound heritage of Mazu culture since its construction in the fourth year of Song Yongxi (987). Not only was it listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit by the State Council, its festival was also announced as the first batch of national-level intangible cultural heritage representative works. In 2009,"Mazu Belief in Customs" was included in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, becoming China's first Belief in Customs World Heritage. The ancestral temple promotes Mazu culture and promotes the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage by holding activities such as commemorating the birth of Mazu and golden parades. At the same time, Mazu culture, such as statues and costumes, has also been developed and spread here, becoming a representative cultural symbol and link for exchanges between civilizations.
